Sometimes there are tracks which cause quite a stir long before their release date, and „Hold Home“ by the Italian producer Santos is one such track. For almost a year now ‚Hold Home’ has been causing mayhem in the sets of Djs like Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Loco Dice and Timo Maas, and now the track is being finally released officially by Moon Harbour.
Santos is one of the majors in the music scene, working as a DJ, producer and remixer. With „Camels“ he released an international chart-hit at the end of the nineties, and remixes and productions for famous stars like Madonna and Fat Boy Slim show that his artistic spectrum goes far beyond electronic clubmusic. Since 2008 he has been assisting Timo Maas as a producer, in addition to running the Mutant Clan project together.
„Hold Home“ is a classic house track – elegant, hypnotic and timeless, and with it he perfectly heralds the beginning of the summer season. The track is based on a short sample-loop of beats, chords and a distinctive vocal sample, and the fact that it needs nothing more than this is testament to Santos' keen sense for the dancefloor.
Luna City Express add their very own brand of funk to their remix on the B side. The two Berliners add percussion, their own vocal sample and a heavy portion of deepness, giving the track a new flow - less loop-orientated, but more soulful and more geared to the dancefloor.

könnte hier vielleicht mal einer nen link zu den tracks einfügen^^. ankündigungen in dieser form sind imo irgendwie witzlos und ich sehe es auch nicht als meine arbeit an hier jeden post zu korrigieren. im gegenteil!

Und der Loop, er läuft und läuft und läuft. Elf Minuten lang. Er läuft direkt in Richtung Ibiza. Dort dürfte die reduzierte House-Schickeria von Santos gut funktionieren. Überhaupt ist funktionieren hier das richtige Wort. »Hold Home« ist ein reines DJ-Tool, perfekt um den Peak einen weiteren Moment oben zu halten. Soviel balearische Leichtigkeit kann auch nur von einem Südländer kommen. Zu Santos ließe sich eine lange Geschichte erzählen, seine Biografie ist gespickt mit vielen glamourösen Momenten. Seine Diskografie dokumentiert dies ebenso. Aber das macht den Track leider nicht charaktervoller. Er bleibt ein nacktes DJ-Tool. Dabei ist der Loop an sich durchaus tight. Das Vocal-Sample nervt jedoch schnell. Die Platte retten schließlich Luna City Express mit ihrem ureigenen Funk zwischen jedem Ton, den sie setzen. Aus den Einzelteilen des Loops haben sie ihren eigenen Track gebastelt, der nicht weniger für den Sommer im Freien taugt. Er geht jedoch mehr in die Breite mit seinen Sounds und Arrangements. Also, doch keine verschenkte Platte.
